The parish of South Tawton is situated to the north of Dartmoor and east of Okehampton. It sits partly within Dartmoor National Park and includes the communities of South Zeal, South Tawton, Taw Green, North Wyke and various other hamlets. It boasts some beautiful landscape, especially the magnificent Cawsand (or Cosdon) Beacon. This website is run by South Tawton Parish Council, and features links to all the major activities of the Council.
Currently, Council has just installed the fourth defibrillator in the BT kiosk at Taw Green and is still looking for ways to install the defibrillator at Hillfield. We are also investigating joining Devon County Council's Road Warden scheme to allow us to fix some potholes ourselves. Council is keen to set up a Village Emergency Telephone System, where volunteers would be rung in an emergency to help those who need it. We are still seeking volunteers.
In response to parishioner requests, we have organised another defibrillator seminar for April 29th, 10am in the Victory Hall. Please contact the clerk on email@example.com or 01837 53570 to book a place.
